Kenneth Beache is the President and Senior Environmental Engineer of Metric Environmental. He is charged with the strategic direction of the business in the areas of Business Development and general governance whilst acting as senior engineer of record. Having achieved his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Howard University he later pursued a Master of Science Degree from Purdue University in Environmental Engineering and later acquired licensure as a Registered Architect and Professional Engineer with environmental focus.

His career of over 25 years has led to progressive architectural, engineering, environmental consulting and project management experience on diverse projects that included regulatory and permitting aspects. Ken has acquired certifications and practices in both the built environment and civil infrastructure including as an Environmental Sustainable Professional (EnvSP). His environmental career has spanned air emissions, toxics and permitting; Industrial Compliance Auditing; noise modeling (TNM); Industrial Hygiene (Asbestos Inspector/Management Planner); Hazardous Material Management (CHMM); Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPP) and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) planning and management to name a few.

As a member of the founding group of Shrewsberry in 2001, he assisted in building the company from its original 5 members to over 60 employees in five states and due to his unique cross-disciplined strengths, Ken rose to VP/COO applying his focus to operational oversight of the business, business development and management of multidisciplinary projects in policy, strategy and value engineering. He has also served on (and led) a variety of professional and civic boards from member and Chairman of a Community Development Corporation; Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, an IUPUI Industrial Advisory Board; Member and Chairman of the Ecological and Environmental Engineering degree program External Advisory Council at Purdue University; Member, subcommittee Chair and Indiana State board member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

This collection of diverse technical, managerial, financial and community life experiences equip him in an excellent fashion to perform as President of Metric Environmental.

Vice President/Senior Environmental Scientist

Vince Epps is the Vice President and Senior Environmental Scientist for Metric Environmental. He is charged with oversight of the daily technical and staff development operations of the company. Vince is a graduate of Purdue University West Lafayette, Indiana with a degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Science. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Ashford University, Clinton Iowa.

Throughout his career as an environmental professional spanning over 20 years, he has served in both consulting and government. His experience ranges from all areas of environmental due diligence activities such as environmental site investigations, NEPA consulting and permitting to the management of complex, multimillion-dollar environmental restoration projects for land quality, surface water and groundwater. He has led major petroleum pipeline spill remedial investigations and cleanup, managed the cleanup of some of the most complex National Priorities List Sites in the nation such as the Bloomington, Indiana PCB Superfund sites; and Conrail Rail Yard Superfund Site in Elkhart, Indiana. Vince managed the assessment and remediation and for the Keystone Enterprise Park redevelopment, one of the largest and most successful brownfields projects in Indiana. He was a substantial contributor to the I-69 Evansville to Indianapolis Environmental Impact Statement for the Indiana Department of Transportation. In addition, he served as the senior water quality consultant to the City of Indianapolis Department of Waterworks for seven years.

Prior to joining Metric, Vince held positions as a field scientist for a prior company, worked as a Superfund (CERCLA) Remedial Project Manager for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, was a project environmental scientist and brownfields business development manager for a large multi-national consulting practice; and, has spent the last 12 years with Shrewsberry & Associates, LLC as a senior project manager and Environmental Division Director. In the most recent capacity of Director, Vince was responsible for managing the daily activity of the environmental services division and for the ultimate quality assurance and training for environmental staff. This role required increased deployment of his business management acumen and has prepared him ideally for his new role of Vice President of Metric Environmental.
