Gary, Indiana
Metric Environmental was contracted by the City of Gary, Redevelopment Commissioner, to serve as the Owner Technical Representative (OTR) to manage all aspects of the Former Sheraton Hotel demolition project funded by the USEPA Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund. The demolition project includes the abatement and demolition of the 14-story hotel and associated circa 500 vehicle capacity parking garage. Metric Environmental’s OTR project responsibilities included coordinating between the City of Gary, design team, and the contractors; reviewing invoice and pay applications; monitoring construction activities; reviewing and recommending change orders; coordinating project meetings; submittal quality reviews; onsite quality oversight; and tracking project costs.
In addition to project management and administration, Metric Environmental also conducted various environmental services including final abatement inspections, air quality monitoring, and sampling services.
