Expanding Key Services, A Brand Refresh and More!
Expanding Key Services To Better Serve Our Project Partners
Metric recently announced the acquisition of Environmental Health Management (EHM) based out of Louisville, KY. It is exciting to be able to expand our environmental consulting capabilities while providing the same high-quality consulting services we are privileged to deliver. We continue to adjust to the impact of this change, the new workload, and the new team. Regarding this merger, Metric President and Senior Engineer Kenneth Beache stated, “Culture is everything and, in EHM, we found business leadership anchored in the same fundamental business and moral principles.”
New project work has already begun to materialize and with a significant number of additional industrial hygiene and occupational safety services we expect the momentum to continue. “The merger has yielded synergies between the firms and is allowing us to provide more services to our clients” say’s Doug Peters, Director of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety.
Metric is now able to offer expertise in all the key areas shown below.
Please don’t hesitate to CONTACT us if you have any questions or want to learn more about this exciting expansion of Metric Environmental. More details on our Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety (IHOS) division are available HERE.

Partnering with Beech Grove for a Greener Future
Congratulations to the City of Beech Grove, Indiana on being awarded a $105,000 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Urban Forestry Grant. This prestigious grant supports urban forestry initiatives aimed at enhancing green spaces and promoting environmental sustainability. Metric is proud to have played a key role in this success. Our Natural Resources Division provided expert guidance and support throughout the grant application process to help secure this valuable funding for Beech Grove’s urban forestry projects.
The grant will enable Beech Grove to:
- Plant new trees in parks, along streets, and in residential areas.
- Improve tree canopy cover to reduce the heat island effect, enhance air quality, and improve stormwater management.
- Promote public education and awareness about the benefits of urban forests.
This award follows Beech Grove’s achievement of the Tree City USA designation in 2023, further highlighting the city’s commitment to creating a greener, healthier community.
Metric routinely works with municipalities and nonprofits to support their efforts in creating healthier, more sustainable communities. If you are interested in learning more about how we can help you secure grant funding for similar urban forestry or environmental projects, please contact Zachary Root, Project Manager/ ISA Certified Arborist Municipal Specialist® at zacharyr@metricenv.com.
Time for a Brand Refresh!
There often comes a time in the life of a company where the brand (the look, feel and voice) needs a refreshment. After 8 years, the leadership team decided it was time to create a fresh logo. As we continue to grow as a company we want the look of our brand to reflect the company we are today and who we are moving forward; A modern and relevant consulting firm addressing real and complex environmental concerns all over the Midwest. Over the next couple of month’s you will begin to see the new logo and colors replace the old. While our look has changed, our same commitment to excellence remains the same. Also, keep an eye out for the launch of our brand new website!
What does Excellence mean to you?
The Metric team is often reminded of our core values of Teamwork, Integrity and Excellence. Senior Project Manager and Cultural Resources Lead Karen Garrard, PhD, RPA shared what Excellence means to her. “Excellence is doing the right thing, doing your very best, it is the life-long pursuit of quality, it is remembered and appreciated but also ever-changing.”
