Metric Environmental was contracted by the City of Gary, Indiana’s Department of Redevelopment to provide project management and design services for the demolition of the former Ambassador Hotel. A team of Metric Environmental Indiana Licensed Asbestos Inspectors conducted an asbestos inspection in preparation for the demolition planned for the summer of 2015. The property included a sixty eight unit apartment building totaling 90,000 square feet built in 1927. All state and federal regulations were followed during the building inspections and sampling procedures. The asbestos survey is being utilized to assist with design development and will be included in bidding documents.
